Biohazard

Contain. Protect.
Respond.

Our disposable repositioning tarps are specifically designed for bio remediation. During Bio Remediation, a DRT can be used as a disposable containment and handling aid to help protect surrounding surfaces and reduce the spread of contamination.

Waste Handling

The DRT itself should be treated as contaminated if it has contacted biohazardous material.

Dispose of it according to the applicable biohazard-waste requirements rather than attempting to reuse it.

Containment

Place a DRT around or beneath the contaminated area.

Use it to protect floors, walls, furniture, and equipment from secondary contamination.

Secure the edges so the DRT doesn't shift during remediation.

covering contaminated materials

A DRT can temporarily cover contaminated items while they are being prepared for removal.

Keep contaminated and clean materials separated.

moving contaminated contents

A DRT can be used as a drag sheet for moving certain contaminated materials when appropriate.

Have enough trained personnel to prevent tearing, spills, or uncontrolled movement.

Debris Collection

Place the DRT underneath removable contaminated materials to catch drips or debris.

Once the work is complete, fold or roll the DRT contaminated side inward to help contain residues.

Protecting transfer services

Place the DRT on a gurney, cot, preparation table, or floor during transfers to help protect the underlying surface from fluids or contamination.

Repositioning a decedent

Trained staff can use a strong, appropriately designed tarp or sheet to assist with sliding or repositioning a body while reducing direct handling.

Temporary containment

Use it beneath or around the decedent during removal or transfer to help contain fluids and protect nearby surfaces.

Protecting vehicles and equipment

A DRT can provide a protective layer in removal vehicles or on transport equipment.

Assisting with cleanup

If the DRT becomes contaminated, fold it with the contaminated side inward and handle/dispose of it according to the facility's infection-control and biohazard procedures.
